A Miami boat captain and his wife requested a small contemporary mountain cabin in the verdant hills of northern North Carolina. The home has a simple shed roof with large south facing glass looking out to the distant mountains of Tennessee. At 2700 square feet the home has two guest suites, a large central gathering/living room and a culinary kitchen intended to accommodate the resident chef.
The interiors are graced with horizontal reclaimed wood, reclaimed radiant wood floors and two massive porches that face north and south with retractable window walls to allow ease of indoor/outdoor living.
The exterior is board formed concrete, rusted corrugated roofing, a three season breezeway and a garage buried in the north side of the hill.
